Winter Activity List

Winter Activity ListThere’s no need to get the Winter Blues when there are so many fun things to do. You can stay warm and cozy with indoor activities or bundle up the kids and head outside for some cold weather fun!

INDOOR ACTIVITIES

  • Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies – Yum!
  • Cut Paper Snowflakes!
  • Make Gourmet Hot Chocolate – Add crushed hard candies, caramel, whipped cream, cinnamon, etc.
  •  Make a Bird Feeder – Spread peanut butter on a empty toilet paper roll, roll it in birdseed & hang it from a tree.  Then stay inside where it’s warm an watch the birds enjoy their treat from your window!
  • Have an Indoor Snowball Fight – Crumple up newspaper, divide into teams & fire away!
  • Have a Pajama Movie Night – Cozy!
  • Make Grilled Cheese Sandwiches & Tomato Soup for Dinner – A favorite cold weather meal at our house!
  • Read Books Together – Visit your local library & check out a short novel or find story books about snow.

OUTDOOR ACTIVITIES

  • Go Sledding – Of course!
  • Build a Snowman – This classic activity will leave your kids with memories that will last a lifetime!
  • Collect and Examine Icicles!
  • Go Ice Skating – What fun!
  • Observe Snowflakes – Catch snowflakes on a piece of black felt and examine their delicate features with a magnifying glass.
  • Shovel the Driveway of an Elderly Neighbor – It will make everyone feel great!
  • Paint the Snow – Use watered down tempera paints and big brushes.
  • Make Snow Angels – Heavenly!
  • Catch Snowflakes on Your Tongue!
  • Go Snowshoeing, Snowboarding or Skiin
