As a gift for my three older sisters, I made these dish towels with mom’s recipe on them and they absolutely loved…

Amazing Women from History

Amazing Women from History!   Ever since I was a young girl, three women from history have enthralled and inspired me!  I’ve spent some time reflecting upon just what the reason is for my fascination with these women.  Are their admirable traits the ones I see as the most important characteristics an individual can possess?  Why have these three women captured my attention for most of my life?  Upon careful consideration, I determined that the single most desirable trait anyone…

4th of July Family Traditions, Independence Day

4th of July Family Traditions!

4th of July is one of my very favorite holidays because there’s much less spending, shopping, decorating and preparing involved than with the other major holidays.  Independence Day is about relaxing, celebrating and enjoying family!  Our city, Layton, Utah does an excellent job of planning holiday festivities and we’ve been enjoying them for many years!  Our city offices are surrounded by a beautiful park with a bowery, an amphitheater, a wave pool, ball diamonds,  and a high school.  All of…

Family Activity

Woodland Fairies at Gardner Village

Gardner Village is a quaint little collection of shops, surrounded by pretty landscaping, in South Jordan, Utah.  For years they have had a “witch fest” every fall with scenes featuring fun and fanciful witches all through the village.  We’ve made it a tradition to visit every year with our family.  More recently they have done something similar with elves around Christmas time and now fairies in the Springtime. This weekend we decided to have some family fun and we went…
