Winter is here and so is dryness and patchiness all over the skin. Following the same skincare routine as summers will make your skin look dull and tired during this season. You must update your routine as per the weather and buy more products that help eradicate the dryness and keep the skin supple.

Here are some easy winter skin care tips following which you can keep the skin healthy and fresh during winter. So, read through and thank me later

  1. Shift to Intense Moisturizer

Using the same old moisturizer you were using in summers? That is a huge mistake. The first thing you need to do as soon as winters arrive is get a new more intensely hydrating moisturizer for your skin. Plus, use it two to three times a day, especially after you wash your hands or face.

  1. Keep a Humidifier in The Room

To keep the skin supple and lock the moisture into the pores, get a humidifier and turn it on before you go to bed. It will work wonders to prevent the patchiness all over your body and improve the hydration level of your skin while you sleep peacefully.

  1. Exfoliate Only Once a Week

Exfoliation is obviously essential for keeping the dead skin at bay, especially in winters. However, keep in mind that frequent exfoliation also leads to more dryness and patchiness. Therefore, reduce your exfoliation routine to just a day per week and that is way enough. Use a toner and a moisturizer after you exfoliate to keep the skin hydrated.

  1. Use Lukewarm Water for Shower

You must also change your shower routine along with the weather change. You can no longer take cold showers, so you end up taking hot steamy ones. However, they are extremely damaging for your skin and they cause your skin to dry out completely. Therefore, make sure you use lukewarm water for shower and take one in every two to three days. Coming in contact with water more frequently during winters can increase dryness.

  1. Use Body Butter on Moist Skin

In order to lock the moisture into the skin and prevent dryness throughout the day, all you need to do is take nice body butter and apply it as soon as you come out of the shower. Make sure you use it on moist skin for long-lasting results. You can also spray your favorite body mist after the application of body butter. It will help keep the skin scented and fresh for long too.
