Vintage Christmas Ornaments
I love Christmas Trees that are decorated with a huge assortment of ornaments that have happy sentimental stories to go with nearly every one of them! Growing up, my parents had that kind of tree and now I’ve had my own tree for almost 30 years and it’s full of ornaments that have their own stories to tell. A few years ago, my sisters and I inherited our parent’s old ornaments that we’d hung on the tree year after year,…

Stuffed Celery – A Thanksgiving Tradition

I remember the three of us laughing and having fun putting olives on our fingers. They called them bobos….

Mama’s Cranberry Apple Salad
My Mama used to make an especially yummy Apple Cranberry Salad every year for Thanksgiving. I’ve never seen or tasted anything else like it. It goes wonderfully with turkey or on a turkey sandwich. If you’re making a small batch it is fairly simple to make. If you tripple, quadruple or sixtuple – I don’t thing that’s a real word ;0) – it like we do, it can be a bit time consuming to cut and peel the apples and…

It just isn’t Thanksgiving without Mom’s Sweet Potatoes. They are are loaded with sugar and butter so we only have them on Thanksgiving and maybe once or twice a year other than…
