Salt Lake Screaming Eagles Arena Football

I’m excited to announce a new feature on Love My Big Happy Family today – Family Travels and Activities! The posts will be about our fun family activities and the fun places we visit. My hope is that it will give you ideas and inspirations for some fantastic family activity times of your own!

The first family activity I’m going to share is an indoor arena football game. In the State of Utah where I live, the Salt Lake Screaming Eagles just had their very first game. My hubby loves arena football so he was very excited! He arranged the whole family activity himself and recruited what kids he could to go with us.

Not everyone in the family could make it this time. Our oldest daughter and her husband joined us, as did our youngest daughter and her two kids. Our boys had to work and their kids had school the next morning and our youngest daughter’s husband was on a business trip. We’re going to have to go again and take those that missed it this time.

With seats on the sixth row we were close to the action. A selfie I took down the row shows the family enjoying the game. G4 and G5 were decked in shirts with footballs on them. We all had a great time, well except maybe G5 as you’ll see in the photos below. She thought the crowd’s cheering was “TOO LOUD!”

There were many things that made the night fun and exciting. G4 enjoyed his popcorn and soda, running from person to person and out in the aisle when he could sneak past Gramma! The Screaming Eagles Dancers performed throughout the game and the Utah National Guard descended from the ceiling at halftime. Drones flew overhead above the game adding interest and intrique, A whole host of mascots performed antics on the sidelines to delight the kids and adults alike! This was a fantastic family activity that we all enjoyed.
